Questions
Everything people ask before they sign.
If your question isn’t here, email us at support@reloca8.com — a real person reads every message.
General
Yes. There's no fee, subscription, or hidden charge for using Reloca8 to cancel, transfer, or set up your services. We're funded entirely by referral commissions from broadband and fiber partners when you switch through us — never by charging movers.
Commission from broadband/fiber providers when you sign up through a comparison link — nothing else. Full detail is in our Affiliate Disclosure.
For services with a competitive new-provider market (broadband, and energy if you're switching), we may not have every provider in our comparison yet. For everything else — council tax, water, a cancel-only energy account — you get the same pre-filled notice regardless of area, since that flow doesn't depend on provider coverage.
Your Customer Authorization
It authorizes us to prepare change-of-address, transfer, or cancellation paperwork using your move details, for the services you selected — and, for any provider we submit to directly on your behalf, to act as your limited agent for that specific submission. It's not a general power of attorney and can't be used to open accounts, spend money, or take any action you didn't explicitly select. For most providers today, we hand you a ready-to-send notice rather than submitting it ourselves, since many require the account holder to confirm directly.
Electronic signatures are legally recognized for this kind of authorization in the UK (under the Electronic Communications Act 2000 and UK eIDAS Regulations) and in the US (under the ESIGN Act and UETA). We log the signature image, the exact text you agreed to, a timestamp, and the signing IP address as an audit trail.
Yes, any time — email support@reloca8.com. A notice you've already downloaded and sent yourself, or a new-provider signup you've already completed through a comparison link, can't be unwound on our end — those happened directly between you and the provider.
They'll usually contact you directly, since the notice is addressed and signed by you, not us. If you let us know, we'll flag it on your dashboard so your progress stays accurate — but we can't act on your behalf mid-conversation, since the account relationship is between you and them.
Data & security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, and database-level access controls so only you can reach your own data. See our Trust & Security page for the full picture.
No. We never have, and it isn't part of the business model — Reloca8 is funded by broadband referral commissions, not data sales.
Yes, any time — email support@reloca8.com. Your profile and dashboard data is removed; see our Privacy Policy for what's retained as a legal audit record and why.
Using the service
Signing up and completing your Customer Authorization takes a few minutes. Actually sending your notices and picking new deals is on you after that — usually a few minutes per service, since everything's pre-filled — and your dashboard tracks status for each one as you go.
That part happens on their side, not ours, and timing varies by organization — Reloca8 can't speed it up or track it once it's out of your hands. As a rough guide: a council tax move-in/move-out is usually acknowledged within a couple of weeks, though your final bill may take a full billing cycle to update; DVLA/DMV address changes are typically processed within a few weeks if done online, longer by post; USPS mail forwarding usually starts within 7–10 business days of your request; and switching energy or broadband supplier in the UK is protected by Ofgem's and Ofcom's switching rules (see the next question). If a provider needs more from you directly, they'll contact you — see the question above on that.
Ofgem is the UK's energy regulator. If you're switching electricity or gas supplier (rather than just cancelling a lease-only account), Ofgem's rules mean the switch itself must complete within 5 working days once you confirm with the new supplier, and you get a 14-day cooling-off period to change your mind without penalty. Reloca8 doesn't handle the switch itself — we take you to the new supplier's own signup via a comparison link — so Ofgem's protections apply directly between you and them, the same as if you'd switched any other way.
Yes — for most services you'll download a pre-filled notice and send it yourself (many providers require it from the account holder directly), or click through to compare and select a new deal. We prepare everything so each step takes minutes, but we don't submit things on your behalf behind the scenes.
Reloca8 is built for household moves. If you're relocating a business, some services (like council tax or residential broadband deals) won't apply the same way — get in touch and we'll let you know what we can help with.
