Our story
Reloca8 started on a doorstep, next to a pile of boxes with nothing written on any of them — not kitchen, not bedroom, not staircase, not garage, nothing — because whoever packed them had run out of patience for labels somewhere around box six. Inside the house, a dog had wedged himself under the only piece of furniture already through the door and was refusing to come out until the world made sense again. The television, naturally, was the first thing plugged in and switched on — except there was no remote for it anywhere, quietly filed away inside one of the boxes with nothing written on it. On the phone, forty minutes into being on hold with the old broadband provider, the same eight bars of hold music kept looping, like it wasn’t going anywhere either.
What nobody quite prepares you for is that a move doesn’t really hand you a fresh start — it strands you between two of them. You’re not living in the old place anymore, and you’re not quite living in the new one yet either; you’re just the person driving back and forth between them, chasing down every account, every provider, every form that decided this was the week to finally need your attention. It never feels like one big stressful thing. It feels like forty small ones, each wearing a different disguise: a password you’ve forgotten, a reference number buried at the bottom of an unlabelled box, a bin day you don’t yet know is the real one, neighbours you don’t yet know will wave back.
So we built the thing we wished had existed while we were still standing in that hallway: one dashboard to work through the entire tangle of admin together, with a real paper trail behind it and a clear view of exactly what’s done and what’s next, so that in-between stretch could shrink from weeks to days — and a move could go back to being about the move itself, not the forty small things standing in its way.
You won’t find a name or a founder photo attached to this page, and that’s on purpose. This section exists to explain why Reloca8 exists, not to introduce anyone in particular — most days, the people who built it are still more useful solving the problem than talking about themselves. For what it’s worth, the boxes did eventually get opened, sorted, and put away. The dog took noticeably longer to trust the new place. He got there in the end too.
